The story of a micro-preemie. . .
Born June 21, 2002
Weight: 750 g (1lb, 10.5 oz)
Length: 13.8 inches
Gestation age: 28 weeks
Things are going great with the boy. He's still eating like a horse, and we're anxious to see how much weight he will have gained by his next appointment with our pediatrician in December. He had a visit Wednesday from his physical therapy nurse, who is happy with his development. His neck muscles have loosened up nicely, and he's starting to really discover his hands and he's giggling a lot and playing with his little jungle gym, as you can see in the new batch of pictures (page 44). The physical therapy nurse actually had just arrived back in the U.S. after visiting an orphanage in China where she did some work with the children there. She had a great time and can't wait to do it again next year.
We're still waiting on Jacob's cousin William. He was due today, but after a visit to the doctor yesterday, they are expecting him anytime within the next couple of days to the next couple of weeks.
I'm working on getting a few sound files up of Jacob squealing. He's really getting very vocal, and he's got a heck of a pair of lungs on him! We really have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, and hope everyone who follows this page had a wonderful time with friends and family.

Jacob's still eating very well, and he's been sleeping longer and longer every night, which is a great bonus for us! He actually stayed asleep for almost eight hours last night! Of course when he woke up he was starving. We're really starting to notice an increase in his developmenthe's smiling more, tracking objects as they move through his line of vision, reacting to us when we call his name, etc.
It finally stopped snowing here, and we're looking forward to a nice day tomorrow! That's one of the things we love about Coloradosnow one day, sunny and warm the next!
